DIBRUGARH: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal actively campaigned for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in the Lakhimpur and Dibrugarh constituencies in Assam on Friday.

As the BJP candidate for the Dibrugarh constituency, Sonowal rallied support for Pradan Baruah, the BJP candidate for Lakhimpur, during meetings at various locations including Chiring village in Dangori and Jon Kareng in Jonai.

Additionally, he attended public gatherings at Ganeshbari Tea Estate in Mohanbari, Poharikhania village in West Mandal, Chowkidingee Smashan Para in Middle Mandal, and Naliapul in East Mandal.

Sonowal, while campaigning for Pradan Baruah, paid respects at the revered figure Khring Khring Baitho and endorsed his colleague for the Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking about Baruah’s dedication and service to the community, Sonowal emphasized the importance of supporting him on April 19th, citing Baruah’s commitment to infrastructure development, particularly in flood-affected areas of Lakhimpur in Assam.

Critiquing the Congress for its lack of developmental efforts, Sonowal highlighted the significant projects completed under the Modi government, including the construction of two major bridges.

He emphasized the BJP’s focus on tangible development over mere promises, contrasting it with the Congress’ track record of laying foundation stones without completing projects.
