Two more persons succumbed to their burn injuries sustained in a massive fire which broke out by the side of A T Road near Tocklai bridge on the night of August 9-10.

Krishna Gopal Agarwal (55) died on August 29 at the Sir Gangaram Hospital in New Delhi and Usha Singhi (50), his wife had succumbed to her injuries on August 20 at Safdarjang Hospital, Delhi.

Gomti Devi (72) and Satyanarayan Agarwal (75) had died in the blaze.

Krishna Gopal Agarwal was the younger brother and Usha Singhi was the sister in law of Satyanarayan Agarwal.

The blaze which began at about 11.30 pm was extinguished at about 4 am by 13 fire tenders from Jorhat and neighbouring Sivasagar and Golaghat districts.

Two buildings–one two-storey and another three storey– were gutted.

The two buildings were those in which the Singhi scooter spare parts shop was located and it spread to Pawan Furniture by its side.

Mahendra Agarwal (58), another injured in the fire is under treatment.
