In a sensational case of broad daylight burglary at Pathsala town in Barpeta district of Assam, miscreants looted huge amount of cash and gold ornaments including valuable dresses from a residence situated at Ramesh Nagar, Ward No 3.

The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon when the owner of the house Chitra Baruah had gone to office and his only son and daughter-in-law had gone out for some work.

The Baruah family informed that the burglars looted cash amount of Rs 34,000/-, around seven tolas of gold ornaments and expensive dresses, one ATM card and several other valuables. They broke into the house through the rear door, broke the locks of the almirahs and got away with the loot within a very short span of time.

An FIR has been lodged in this regard at the Pathsala Police Outpost. This daring case of daylight burglary has made the people of the area feel “very very insecure”.
