The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) announced that it would extend financial aid for former Ranji player Prakash Bhagat from Silchar.
The announcement from ACA comes after a report on Prakash Bhagat that he is forced to sell tea and snacks to meet the daily expenses of his family.

Prakash Bhagat once trained with the Indian cricket team led by Saurav Ganguly at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
The Assam Cricket Association announced that it would pay an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 lakh to former Assam Ranji cricketer Prakash Bhagat.
In a statement, Assam Cricket Association (ACA) secretary Devajit Saikia said Prakash Bhagat’s financial trouble came to the fore because of media reports.

The cricket association of Assam also announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 50,00 for cricketer Rujanmani Bora, who hails from Dhakuakhana in Assam’s Lakhimpur district.
Rujanmani Bora is an Under-19 cricket player.
“Assam Cricket Association announces ex-gratia payments of Rs 1 lakh and Rs 50,000 for former Ranji player Prakash Bhagat of Silchar and young cricket player Rujanmani Bora of Dhakuakhana, Lakhimpur respectively, who have fallen on hard times due to the many-sided adversities brought about by COVID-19,” said the Assam Cricket Association statement.
“Prakash Bhagat, apart from being a former Ranji Trophy player, had also represented Assam in Vijay Merchant U-16 Trophy, CK Nayudu U-22 Trophy, Cooch Behar U-19 Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy (One Day format),” the statement further said.
Assam Cricket Association, upon learning about the players’ dire straits from various media sources, at once decided to extend financial assistance to them to help them tide over the crisis,the cricket body added.
