On the day when Assam’s overall COVID19 tally stands at 29,921, a total of 1,062 other people, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from the state’s various hospitals on Friday.
Sharing the good news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswqa Sarma in a tweet on Friday night said: “Discharge Alert~ 1062 patients discharged today.”
The health minister said for third day in a row, “over 1000 patients have returned home and this is all thanks to our medical teams”.
With the release of 1,062 patients, the total number of discharged patients in Assam now stands at 21,761 including 8,081 active patients, health minister Sarma said.
With the demise of six more positive patients in Assam, the COVID19 death toll in the state has risen to 76 on Friday, the health minister informed.
Meanwhile, a total of 739,465 samples have been tested for COVID19 so far in Assam.
“Our testing figures touched 739,465 today. In days ahead, we shall continue the drive to reach out to many of you. We request that all those who spot any symptoms or feel that they should be tested, should come forward,” health minister Sarma added.
