Assam has registered 59 new COVID19 cases, taking the state’s total to 2,835.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet at 11.35 pm on Monday said the infected patients are from 11 districts in Assam.
The health minister informed that Dhemaji has reported 14 COVID19 positive cases,, Darrang has reported 13 cases and Nagaon district has reported 8 positive cases..
Sarma said 6 COVID19 positive cases have been reported from Biswanath district and 6 other cases have been detected in Sonitpur district.
Barpeta has reported 5 positive cases, Chirang has reported 2 cases and Dibrugarh has reported similar number of cases and one each positive case has been reported from Bongaigaon, Karbi Anglong and Kamrup Metro.

With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam stands at 2,044.
Earlier, a total of 784 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.
The disease has claimed the lives of 5 persons in Assam with a new case of death due to COVID19 infection was reported from Karbi Anglong district on Monday.
But health minister Sarma is yet to declare it as a COVID19 death.
