On the day when Assam’s COVID19 tally stands at 28,791, a total of 1349 patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from various hospitals in Assam on Thursday night.
“Discharge Alert ~ 1349 patients are back home, happy,” Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status.

“In moments like these, such information – we crossed 20,000 cured patients mark – bring cheers. Also second day in a row, our discharge figures on July 23 are higher than new cases. Kudos to all who made this possible,” the health minister said.
Meanwhile, four more persons died in Assam on Thursday due to COVID19 infections.
The patients, who have succumbed to COVID19 infections, have been identified as 75-year-old BL Ajit Saria from Kamrup Metro, 43-year-old Baldev Singh from Jammu & Kashmir, 40-year-old Samim Ahmed from Karimganj and 53-year-old Dilip Kr Roy from Kokrajhar district.

The health minister informed that in the last 24 hours, more than 19,000 COVID19 tests were conducted in various laboratories across Assam and the state’s positivity rate is 5.25%.
The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 70 positive patients.
Assam currently has 8,091 active COVID19 cases while 3 cases have migrated from the state.
