On the day when Assam’s COVID19 tally stands at 21,864, a total of 1,060 patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, were discharged from various hospitals of the state on Saturday.
Sharing the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Saturday said:

With the release of the 1,060 patients, the total number of patients, who have been discharged from various civil, district and model hospitals in Assam, increased to 15,165.
Health minister Sarma informed that Assam currently has 6,643 active COVID19 patients, who have been undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
With the demise of two more positive patients on Saturday, Assam’s COVID19 death tally has risen to 53.
Confirming the death of the two persons, health minister Sarma said the deceased have been identified as 61-year-old Binandi Ram Kalita from Kamrup Metro and 62-year-old Sushil Shymal from Jorhat.
“Sad News – Two #COVID19 patients ~ Sri Binandi Ram Kalita (61, Kamrup Metro) & Sri Sushil Shymal (62, Jorhat) lost their lives today. I send my prayers & condolences to these two families,” health minister Sarma said.
