Assam COVID19 update

Assam has registered 73 more COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s overall tally to 2,397.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet in the evening on Saturday said 4 COVID19 positive cases have been detected in the airport.

The health minister informed that the other positive cases have been reported from 16 districts.

According to Sarma, Dhubri district has reported 21 positive cases, Dima Hasao has reported 12 positive cases, Goalpara has reported 6 cases and 5 cases have been reported from Hailakandi district.

While 5 cases have been reported from Kamrup, 1 case has been reported from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati.

West Karbi Anglong has reported 4 COVID19 positive cases, 4 positive cases have been detected in Golaghat district, 3 have been detected in Dhemaji district, and Cachar district has reported 2 cases.

One each case has been reported from Rangapara in Sonitpur district, Karbi Anglong, Nagaon, Charaideo, Karimganj, and Sivasagar district.

“Alert ~ 73 new #COVID19+ cases. 21 Dhubri, 12 D’Hasao, 6 G’para, 5 H’kandi, 5 Kamrup, 4 Airport, 4 West K Anglong, 4 Golaghat, 3 Dhemaji, 2 Cachar, 1 each from MMCH, R’para, K Anglong, Nagaon, Charaideo, K’ganj, S’sagar,” health minister Sarma tweeted.

With the new cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Assam stands at 1,843.

Earlier, a total of 547 COVID19 were discharged from various hospitals across the state after their recovery.

The deadly disease has claimed the lives of 4 persons while 3 cases have migrated from the state.

“Total cases 2397. Recovered 547. Active cases 1843,” Sarma added.
