On the day when Assam’s COVID19 tally increased to 1,40,471, a total of 2,553 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from the hospitals or Covid care centres in the state on Saturday.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status on Saturday night said: “Discharge Alert. 2553 patients discharged today.”
“May God bless all recovered patients and their families with good health & happy lives. Best wishes,” the health minister tweeted.
With the release of 2,553 more patients, the total number of discharged patients in the state increased to 1,10,882.
Assam currently has 29,133 COVID19 active patients.
Meanwhile, 23 more positive patients died of COVID19 infection across Assam on Saturday, taking the state’s death toll to 453.
On Saturday, Assam registered 2,132 new COVID19 positive cases out of 31,253 tests done in the last 24 hours.
According to the health minister, three of the positive patients have migrated from the state,
