Assam has registered 2,403 new COVID19 positive cases, taking the state’s tally to 1,44,166.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status on Monday night said the new cases have been detected out of 32,242 tests.

“Alert ~ 2403 #COVID cases detected today out of 32242 tests done in last 24 hours,” health minister Sarma said.

Assam’s positivity rate stands at 7.45%, Sama informed.

Of the new cases, Kamrup Metro has reported 538 new cases, Dibrugarh 183, Lakhimpur 182, Jorhat 175 and Golaghat has reported 118 new cases.

A total of 1,13,133 patients have recovered from the disease in the state so far.

Assam currently has 30,548 active cases.

On Monday, 13 more positive patients succumbed to COVID19 infection in Assam, taking the state’s death toll to 482.

Confirming the news, health minister Sarma in an earlier tweet said: “Very sad & anguished to inform that 13 more COVID19 positive patients have succumbed to the disease.”
