On the day when Assam’s COVID19 tally increased to 1,88,902, a total of 1,586 other patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, were discharged on Tuesday.
Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in his latest tweet on the state’s COVID19 status on Tuesday said: “Discharge Alert. 1586 patients discharged today.”
“I wish all recovered patients a happy and healthy life ahead. Take care of your families and keep taking precautions,” health minister Sarma said.
With the discharge of 1,586 more patients, the number of discharged patients in the state on Tuesday rose to 1,55,074.
Assam currently has 33,047 active COVID19 cases.
Assam registered 1,184 new COVID19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s tally to 1,88,902.
The new cases have been detected out of 31,780 tests.
Assam’s positivity rate on the day was 3.73%.
Of the new positive cases, the Kamrup Metro district reported 270 cases while Jorhat district reported 103 cases.
On Tuesday, a total of 18 positive patients succumbed to COVID19 infection in Assam, taking the state’s death toll to 778.
