Darrang deputy commissioner Prabhati Thaosen has formed a district level grievance redressal cell to address the public grievances and complaints.

As per the notification, issued by the deputy commissioner, the redressal cell has been formed with the additional commissioner (health) as its in-charge and the district media expert, National Health Mission (NHM) as the nodal officer.

The redressal cell will have the joint director of health, the district surveillance officer, the district programme manager, NHM and project officer of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) as members.

As per the notification, the redressal call will address all the Covid-related issues immediately.

Grievances received through 104, toll free No 1077 as well as other two dedicated phone numbers 03713-222723 and 94350- 44400 or through written communication or social media posts should be addressed.

Issues related to treatment of Covid19 patients and cremation or last rituals will have to be redressed urgently with top priority by the cell.

Issues of vaccination to be addressed through ADC (vaccination). The cell will also make follow-up calls to confirm the status of grievances redressed and satisfaction level of the complainants.

This has been stated in an official communique on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Darrang recorded 3 more Covid19 deaths on Saturday, taking the overall death toll in the district during the second wave to 54.

On Friday, the aggregate positivity rate of infection came down to 3.65%.

On Saturday, 239 new positive cases were detected in Darrang district as per data shared by NHM, Assam.

Till Friday, the cumulative figure of positive cases went up to 5345, of which 3912 recovered.

The total active cases in the district stood at 1382 on Friday.
