Assam COVID-19 crisis: 10 deaths, 1931 new positive cases

COVID-19 deaths were reported from as many as 7 districts in Assam on Thursday. 

COVID-19 deaths were reported from the districts of: Kamrup-Metro – 3, Karbi Anglong – 2, Barpeta – 1, Dibrugarh – 1, Karimganj – 1, Sonitpur – 1 and Tinsukia – 1. 

Assam’s COVID-19 death toll has risen to 1160.

Moreover, Assam further logged nearly 2000 COVID-19 positive cases on Thursday. 

A total of 1931 new COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Assam on Thursday.  

As many as 680 cases have been detected from in and around Guwahati city. 

The other districts with COVID-19 caseloads are: Dibrugarh – 143, Kamrup-Rural – 136 and Nagaon – 103. 

With the detection of these 1931 fresh COVID-19 cases in Assam, the State’s active cases tally has crossed the 10,000-mark.

Assam, at present, has 10571 active COVID-19 cases. 

Assam’s COVID-19 positivity rate was recorded at 2.63 percent on Thursday. 

The 1931 cases recorded in Assam on Thursday were detected after conducting tests of 73428 samples.
