Assam government has pulled up sleeves to fight coronavirus threat in the State tooth and nail.

The State Government has decided to set up two large quarantine centres with capacity of nearly 1,000 persons each in Guwahati.

While one quarantine centre is come up at the Sarusajai Stadium, the other will be set up at the Nehru Stadium.

As per the announcement of state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, work has begun in full swing on Thursday morning to prepare these two quarantine centres.

Meanwhile, the Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) and the Sonapur Hospital have been set up into specific corana-treatment complexes.

Already, the Chabua-based ‘Tata Referral Hospital’ has been handed over to the Health authorities by its management.

It will also be used for the COVID-infected persons.
