Chanting slogans against Sen Deka, the agitating Youth Congress supporters and workers demanded his suspension, apology before the Bengali community as well as his ouster from the party at the earliest.
Kushal Dutta, president of Silchar Assembly Youth Congress, speaking to Northeast Now, said, “We know that a show cause notice has been served against Nilamani Sen Deka, but, we want him to be first suspended and later removed from the party’s primary membership.”
Dutta added, “If actions are not taken at the earliest, we would intensify our protest in the days to come.”

Abhijit Paul, general secretary of the Silchar District Congress Committee, who was also seen chanting slogans and protesting against the former minister, said, “We are happy that the first step has been taken by the party issuing Nilamani Sen Deka a show cause notice.”
Paul added, “We would just not wait and watch here. We are strongly demanding his ouster from the party as he has disobeyed the principles and ideologies of our party.”
“Our party does not advocate political gains on passing lewd comments on castes or communities,” he added.
