NEW DELHI: In a heated Lok Sabha session, Congress MP from Jorhat constituency in Assam, Gaurav Gogoi, demanded installation of a statue of Bhimrao Ambedkar in the new Parliament building.
Addressing his fellow parliamentarians, Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi said: “They (BJP government) are saying again and again that they made the new Parliament.”
“Would it not have been appropriate to install a statue of Bhimrao Ambedkar in front of the Parliament?” the Congress MP from Assam questioned.

By suggesting the installation of a statue of Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, Gogoi highlighted Ambedkar’s crucial role in shaping modern India.
