Suspended Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) secretary Partha Pratim Bora on Thursday alleged that APCC president Ripun Bora has been leading the State Congress like a ‘dictator’.
Partha Pratim Bora, who was a former Assam State National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) president, while addressing a press conference here, coming down heavily on Ripun Bora, alleged that the later has used the APCC as paternal property.

He said, “Ripun Bora is doing family politics in Assam Congress.”
The suspended Congress leader further said, “This is not for the first time that somebody has been suspended from the State Congress. Many new members were also suspended from the NSUI earlier. Now, there is no place for justice in Assam Congress. He suspends or expels those from the party whom he does not like.”

Partha Pratim Bora also said, “Ripun Bora has been trying to escape from the truth about his entry in Tihar jail. He was in Tihar jail for his wrong deeds.”
Talking about the felicitation programme for around 1200 meritorious students, which scheduled to be organized at Tezpur, Partha Pratim Bora said, “Ripun Bora’s Tihar jail story sidelined the felicitation programme.”
The cancelled felicitation programme of students of Tezpur was organized by NSUI Tezpur district unit.
Partha Pratim Bora further informed that he dashed off letter to CP Joshi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi on matter.
Talking about his suspension from the APCC, he said, “There is no rule to suspend anyone without giving any show-cause notice. Nobody can suspend a person based on allegations. Ripun Bora has been doing cheap politics inside Assam Congress.”
Besides, Partha Pratim Bora asserted that the Assam Congress under the leadership of Ripun Bora would not be able to get 64 seats to form Government in 2021 Assembly elections and would also fail to win good number of seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
