Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal while addressing the media in Guwahati on Friday showered all praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in leading the fight against COVID-19.

He also disclosed that during the video conference with Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday last, Sonowal had advocated extending lockdown by another two weeks.

He said this while addressing the media at the Assam Administrative College on Friday.

Sonowal said the people across the country have joined unitedly to fight against COVID-19.

He also said the country is in facing acute economic crisis and that the Prime Minister is working out ways to bail out the economy of the nation.

He also praised Modi for the Rs 20 lakh crore package announced by the Prime Minister on Wednesday last.

Sonowal said people of Assam will be benefited by this package.

Sonowal also praised Modi for the concern shown by him at this time of crisis.
