Earlier, the Assam Government had issued an order stating that District authorities in Assam have been instructed by the State Government to paste posters outside the residences of COVID-19 positive patients.

The step has been taken by the Assam Government to “protect the community at large from further spread of the COVID-19 virus”.

“…there have been reports that some COVID positive persons do not observe COVID appropriate behaviour and end up spreading the infection among the uninfected persons who come in their contact,” read an official order signed by Assam Chief Secretary Jishnu Baruah.

“Therefore, it is necessary to put an identify mark, on places where such persons are self-isolated or quarantined, for the larger benefit of community,” the order added.
