The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam Police on Saturday arrested another person from Tinsukia district of Upper Assam in connection with the question paper leak case.

The arrested person, identified as Jaidev Baruah, is stated to be the right-hand man of former DIG of Assam Police, PK Dutta, who is wanted in the question paper leak case.

The question paper of the written test for the recruitment of sub-inspectors in Assam Police was leaked, ahead of the scheduled date.

The CID sleuths have already raided the residence and hotels owned by PK Dutta, but the former cop is absconding.

Police have nabbed so far a total of 13 persons in connection with the case.

Assam Police have launched a massive operation against those who are involved in the question paper leak case after chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal instructed it to nab every culprit who is involved in the racket.

According to the police sources, Jaidev Baruah has a close relationship with absconding ex-deputy inspector general (DIG) of police, Prasanta Kumar Dutta, who is the prime accused in the recruitment scam.
