Assam chief minister, Sarbananda Sonowal on Friday appealed to the public to lend their support to the local pottery industry by purchasing goods made by local artisans during the festival of lights.
He also interacted with the local vendors at the Kamakhya Gate area in Guwahati and bought earthen lamps from them.

The chief minister said, “The local pottery industry with its tremendous potential, needs to be promoted.”
“The people can contribute to building a robust economy of the state by purchasing pottery made by local artisans,” he added.
The people of the country have to strive hard for capturing the global market by adequately focusing on producing indigenous products of superior quality, said the chief minister.
