GUWAHATI: If any person is caught cheating in exam, he or she may have to face a jail term of up to three years.

This is part of a new bill, which was introduced in the Assam legislative assembly on Monday (February 05).

The Assam cabinet has introduced the โ€œAssam Public Examination Billโ€ in the stateโ€™s legislative assembly during the budget session.

According to the proposed law introduced in the Assam assembly, cheating in exams may lead to three years in jail along with a fine of Rs 10 lakh.

Furthermore, leaking examination papers will attract Rs 10 crore fine and 10 years prison term.
