All Assam Cab Operators’ Union also demanded a halt to include more Ola-Uber vehicles to the existing ones. Also a reduction of the 26 per cent share taken by the Ola-Uber authorities to 10 per cent and a minimum fare of Rs 100.

An Uber spokesperson on Wednesday said the company is committed to ensuring that driver partners have a rewarding entrepreneurial experience.

The spokesperson added, “We regret the disruption caused to our rider and driver community in Guwahati by a small group of individuals who are resorting to violence and vandalism. We hope the injunction issued by the district court will help law enforcement authorities ensure that Uber drivers stay behind the wheel, without fear or harassment,”.
