The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) party workers and supporters on Friday took out a bike rally in the Bhergaon Bodo Territorial Council (BTC) constituency in Assam’s Udalguri district in support of former deputy speaker and Bhergaon candidate, Nerswn Boro.

More than 3000 bikers participated in the rally, displaying party flags and shouting slogans in support of the leader.

Former Lok Sabha MP Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary flagged off the bike rally at Attarikhat in the district.

Bwiswmuthiary said that the BTC polls 2020 will be a historic one where the victory of the BPF party is inevitable.

There is a massive support base of the party across the 10 BTC constituencies and if the polls are held in a free and fair manner the BPF party will bounce back to power for the fourth consecutive term, he said.

The BTC polls will be held in two phases on December 7 and 10.

Bwiswmuthiary also claimed that the saffron party is anti-indigenous and has worked in a detrimental manner against the cause of the people of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).

Nerswn Boro said, “The BPF has tried to spread the message of peace, unity, integrity and development among various communities residing in the Bodo belt through the bike rally.”

He also said that the party will solve the various issues of the people if it is voted back to power in the coming BTC polls.
