Assam boy and fifth seed Jigyashman Hazarika won the boys’ under-12 singles title while Manipur boy Bushan Haobam annexed the boys’ under-14 singles crown in the OIL-AITA Super Series Tennis Championship.
The championship held at the All Assam Tennis Association (AATA) Complex, in Guwahati concluded on Friday.

In the finals, Jigyashman upset second seed Harsh Fogaat of Delhi 6-3, 6-2.
Bushan got the better of Yuvan Nandal of Haryana who conceded the match with the former leading 6-2, 2-1.
The under-14 boys’ doubles crown was lifted by Assam’s Anchit Gogoi in tandem with Ayush P. Bhat of Karnataka beating Bushan and Bhicky Sagolsem, also of Manipur, 1-6, 6-1, 10-8 in the final.

In the girls’ courts, sixth seed Ira Shrenik Shah (Gujarat) upset fifth seed Ridhi Choudhary Poka (Telangana) 6-2, 7-5 for the under-12 singles crown and top seed Vaishnavi Adkar (Maharashtra) beat second seed Pari Singh (Maharashtra) 6-4, 6-1 for the under-14 title, reports The Telegraph.
AATA secretary Ankush Dutta distributed the trophies and certificates, along with tournament supervisor Surajit Bandyopadhyay.
