Assam boxer Loveleena Borgohain was admitted to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) on Sunday.
She was hospitalised after being diagnosed with dengue fever, family sources said. Loveleena has been kept in a paying cabin of the GMCH.
She won medial in the Asian Boxing Championship held in November this year.
Earlier Loveleena was picked up to represent the Indian team in the President’s Cup International Boxing Championship held at Astana in Kazakhstan in June 4 this year.
Loveleena fought in the 75kg category.
Meanwhile, the Assam Boxing Association (ABA) has extended a financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to the ailing boxer for her treatment.
Assam Boxing Association president Kalikanta Boro and secretary Hemanta Kalita on Sunday visited GMCH and took stock of her health.
They handed over a cheque of Rs. ten thousand to her and wished her speedy recovery.
