Ankushita Boro, the young boxer from Assam, has been appointed the Brand Ambassador of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme of the Kamrup Metropolitan District, Assam.
She bagged a gold medal in the World Youth Women’s Boxing Championship in 2017.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal appointed Ankushita for this post at a ceremony organized on International Women’s Day on March 8 at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra, Panjabari in Guwahati.
The ceremony was jointly organized by the State government’s Department of Social Welfare and the Assam State Social Welfare Board, where CM Sonowal was present as the Chief Guest.
