Good news for environmentalists and nature lovers, as a new book titled Serene Soraipung was released on Thursday at a function in Tinsukia.

The book is penned by Imon Abedin of Tinsukia.

“I took three years to complete the book. Serene Soraipung is a book on the Dihing Patkai National Park and it is a first-of-its-kind book on the National Park. After three years of intense research and fieldwork I have completed the book,” Imon Abedin told Northeast Now.

“The book is a complete package on Dihing Patkai, who wants to do research on Dihing Patkai National Park, the book will be an immense help for them. The book has both pictorial representations as well as data on the National Park,” Abedin said.

“I decided to write the book to highlight the rich biodiversity of Dihing Patkai National Park to the international stage as there is no such data available on the national park,” said the writer.

He said that people don’t know much about the rich biodiversity of Dihing Patkai, this book will help them to understand different aspects of the Park.

“This is my first book but in near future, I want to write more books on nature and try to highlight it in the international arena.

The book was released in presence of Tinsukia Deputy Commissioner Narsing Pawar, SP Debojit Deori, Prof Dr S.P. Biswas and Additional DC of Tinsukia, S.Haque.
