The Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA) and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) are likely to announce their decision on Class 10 (HSLC) and Class 12 (HSSLC) Board exams on Monday.
The Class 10 (HSLC) and Class 12 (HSSLC) Board exams in Assam were scheduled to be conducted from May 11, 2021, and May 12, 2021, respectively.
However, in view of the spike in Covid-19 cases, students have urged the government to either postpone or cancel the board exams.
This year approximately 4 lakh students are expected to appear for the Assam Board Exam 2021.
Students and teachers are hoping that the examinations should be postponed to ensure no further transmission.
Last week, (AHSEC) postponed the HS 1st Year Exams 2021 indefinitely.
As far as the HSLC exam is concerned, there is no official update yet but expected to be announced on Monday.
Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier appealed to SEBA and AHSEC to discuss with relevant stakeholders regarding Assam Board Exam 2021 and take a concrete decision within the next 10 days.
