With less than one year left for the Assembly polls in Assam, the BJP on Tuesday announced its new executive committee for the state, including eight vice-presidents and four general secretaries.
State BJP president Ranjit Kr Dass said the party has given preference to woman leaders in the new executive committee.

Hemaprabha Borthakur, Bijuli Kalita Medhi, Rekharani Das Boro, Swapnanil Baruah, Ratan Teron, Pulak Gohain, Jayanta Das and Jayanta Malla Baruah were appointed as the party’s vice-presidents in the state.

Silchar MP Rajdeep Roy, Jorhat MP Topon Kr Gogoi, Tezpur MP Pallab Lochan Das and Phanindra Nath Sharma were appointed as general secretaries.
Rajkumar Sharma has been appointed as treasurer of the state committee of the party.
The list of appointees also includes nine secretaries besides presidents of Yuba Morcha and Mahila Morcha.
Party president Dass said that the general secretaries of the party can not contest the ensuing Assembly polls.
