Executive member of BTC’s agriculture department Ansumwi Khungur Boro on Monday launched the bike ambulance service in at Baksa district under Aspirational District Baksa Scheme.
The scheme will be implemented by North East Council (NEC), DoNER, and NITI Aayog at pilot basis at DR RB Civil Hospital in Mushalpur area of the district.

“With the launch of bike ambulance services here today, a long felt need has been achieved,” Boro said in his address to the gathering.
“Today Baksa district scripted its name in history pages as it is for the first time in entire Northeast that bike ambulance services have been introduced,” Boro added.
Flood and erosion every year severely affects Baksa districts and during this period bike ambulances will be of great help.

Moreover, there are places where big cars and vehicles can’t travel to in cases of emergency. Bike ambulances will come handy as they could reach such places with much ease.
