Assam’s Bhargav Saikia’s feature directorial debut, The Ordeal, has been selected to participate at the Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) co-production market to be held in Bucheon, South Korea from 14-18 July.
NAFF, which runs alongside the renowned Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, is Asia’s leading platform for the promotion of pathbreaking genre cinema.

26 feature film projects from all over the world have been handpicked for this intensive five-day event, which will be attended by international production companies, sales agents and genre film influencers.
The Ordeal is a Hindi/English language horror-drama feature film, scheduled to be shot in 2019. The film is currently in the pre-production stage.
Bhargav Saikia’s previous film, The Black Cat, was an official adaptation of a Ruskin Bond short story and it featured Shernaz Patel and the late Tom Alter in the lead roles.

The fantasy genre short film received rave reviews from leading Indian and foreign media publications. Most notably, The Black Cat took the number three spot on Film Companion’s Top 10 Indian Short Films of 2017 ranking.
Director Bhargav Saikia who hails from Assam is the founder of the company Lorien Motion Pictures.
