One youth has been booked by the Bajali Police for allegedly abetting the suicide of a 20-year-old girl in Pathasala.
Sahidul Ali is accused of abetting the suicide of 20-year-old Rupali Nah, a student of Bhattadev University.

Sahidul was arrested based on the FIR lodged by the victim’s mother with the Patacharkuchi Police Station.
“Sahidul led Rupali into a relationship with him by using a fake Facebook account and later he began harassing her mentally,” the FIR stated.
“When Rupali could not cope up the harassments, she decided to end her life,” the FIR added.

Refuting the harassment allegations Shahidul’s parents said that Rupali continued to be in the relationship even after knowing that they both were from separate religions.
“He did not harass Rupali at any point,” said Sahidul’s parents.
Rupali’s untimely demise has saddened the area and several organisations have demanded stringent punishment for the culprit.
Rupali, who originally hails from Golaghat, was living at a rented house in Pragati Nagar area of Pathsala town.
Her body was found hanging by the ceiling on Monday.
