The construction of Ayurvedic College and Hospital in Majuli district is nearing completion, said Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta on Friday.

Informing about the progress of the construction of the Ayurvedic College & Hospital, health minister Mahanta said an expert committee will be formed to oversee the process and make the college and hospital operational soon.

During the visit of the health minister, the deputy commissioner of the Majuli district, senior district administration officials and the BJP Majuli district president were also present amongst others.

“Today, inspected the Ayurvedic College & Hospital in #majuli district, the construction of which is nearing completion,” Mahanta tweeted.

“An expert committee will be formed to oversee the process & make it operational soon,” he said.

“DC Majuli, senior district admin officials & BJP Majuli district president were also present amongst others,” he added.

The health minister also inaugurated the newly-built Free Dialysis Centre under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme at the Civil Hospital in Garmur on Friday.

He also reviewed the newly-constructed building at the hospital premises.

The hospital will soon be equipped with 12 PICU, 10 ICU and 20 Oxygen supported beds, the minister said.

“Inaugurated the newly built Free Dialysis Centre under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme at the Civil Hospital in #Garmur today and reviewed the newly constructed building at the hospital premises. The hospital will soon be equipped with 12 PICU, 10 ICU and 20 Oxygen supported beds,” he added.

The health minister also visited the site of Garmur Water Supply Scheme, Kamalabari PHE sub-division and the Kamalabari CHC.

“Another 20 beds will be added to the existing 30 bedded CHC to boost its infrastructure & facilitate better health provisions to the public,” he said.

Besides, minister Mahanta also visited the construction site of the District Science Centre cum Planetarium in Majuli.
