Assam: At least 3 injured in bogie tank explosion at railway workshop in Bongaigaon

At least 3 railway staffers sustained injuries after a bogie tank exploded at the railway workshop at New Bongaigaon in Assam.

The incident took place when the railway workers were ‘fixing’ the bogie tank.

The explosion took place when the workers were welding the bogie at the workshop.

The injured railway workers have been identified as Subhash Ghose(58), Subhash Ray(54) and Nandeswar Singha (55).

Alleged negligence on part of the Chief Workshop Manager of the railway workshop led to the incident.

Notably, the work of cleaning of tanks is being outsourced, which was allegedly not done properly which led to the explosion.

The authorities at the New Bongaigaon Railways Workshop have now registered a complained in regards to the safety.
