Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) launched their first online booking application ASTC REDBUS on Monday.
The application can be downloaded from Google Playstore and people can book their e-ticket from mobile and website.
The application was launched by Chandra Mohan Patowary , Assam Minister for Transport and Skill Development. He said that the application will not only help people save their valuable time but also stop pilferage of money.
He also said that the state government was getting only Rs 400 crore annually from the Transport department but last year they got Rs 800 crore .
Also, he hoped that this year the department will be able to contribute at least Rs 1000 crore to the state exchequer.
New buses will be added to the ASTC fleet to provide comfortable facilities and excellent travelling services to the people of the state.
Patowary flagged of six air-conditioned buses for long distance travel, including Guwahati- Itanagar and Guwahati- Shillong on Monday.
