Sibsagar MLA Akhil Gogoi on Monday alleged that the Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly only “controls” the opposition at the Assembly and not the ruling party.
Speaking to the media, Akhil Gogoi said that during the Assembly session, the Speaker of the House had only controlled the opposition parties but remained silent on the wrongs of the ruling party.
He said that members of the ruling party, including the Chief Minister, are involved in disrupting important discussions in the House by various gestures.
