The Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) has announced its first list of four candidates for the ensuing Assam Assembly elections 2021.
The candidates will contest for 4 Assembly seats in Udalguri district including Udalguri, Paneri, Mazbat and Kalaigaon.

In the first list, BPF has given tickets to two of its sitting MLAs.
While Assam Cabinet minister and BPF leader Rihon Daimari has retained candidature for Udalguri, the Mazbat sitting MLA, Charan Boro has been nominated for the Mazbat seat.
Two new faces have been provided candidature to fight for Paneri and Kalaigaon seats.

BPF organizing secretary Karuna Kanta Swargiary has been nominated as BPF candidate for Paneri Assembly constituency while veteran politician and former Congressman, who switched to BPF, Durga Das Boro has been given candidature for Kalaigaon LAC.
Talking to media persons, Karuna Kanta Swargiary said, “The party has bestowed me with responsibilities and I am ready to fight the election.”
“I am confident of emerging victorious with good margins,” Swargiary said.
He further reiterated his commitment to work for resolving issues of drinking water and man-elephant conflict if voted to power in the ensuing Assam Assembly elections.
Senior Congress leader Durga Das Boro formally joined the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), led by former BTC (now BTR) chief Hagrama Mohilary to contest from the Kalaigaon Assembly constituency.
The senior leader joined the BPF at the party office in Kokrajhar in the presence of party president Hagrama Mohilary and other senior party leaders.
Welcoming Durga Das Boro to the party, BPF president Mohilary announced Boro as the party spokesperson.
Mohilary also declared party candidates for the four Assembly constituencies .
Addressing the reporters at Kokrajhar, Mohailary said BPF will contest in all the 12 constituencies under the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
He expressed his confidence that the Congress-led Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) will form the government in Dispur, ousting the BJP.
