BJP candidate Ramakanta Dewri has found himself in a spot a day ahead of the phase II Assam Assembly elections after a video shows him distributing money to some women.
The sitting BJP MLA is contesting the Assam Assembly election from the Morigaon constituency, which will go to the polls on Thursday.

In the video that has gone viral on social media on Wednesday, Dewri can be spotted distributing money to a group of women.
Dewri was elected as an MLA on BJP ticket from Morigaon constituency in the 2016 Assembly election defeating his rival Jonjonali Baruah of Congress by 29623 votes.

In 2017, the BJP legislator ran into a controversy after a purported sex tape featuring Dewri went viral in the Marigaon constituency.
Dewri had denied his involvement in the video and said he would resign if forensic tests showed his involvement.
A total of 39 constituencies including Morigaon are going to polls in the second phase of the Assam Assembly elections on Thursday.
