Haflong: The 26 Assam Rifles, based in Haflong and operating under the Agartala Sector, organised a free medical health check-up camp at Jatinga village in Assam’s Dima Hasao district on Saturday in collaboration with the Dima Hasao Ex-Servicemen Committee.
The health camp was conducted as part of the force’s ongoing outreach initiatives to provide medical assistance to underserved and remote communities.
More than 150 villagers, including women and children, underwent health check-ups for common ailments during the camp. Patients were also provided with free medicines based on their medical needs.
Medical officers from the Assam Rifles interacted with residents, addressed their health-related concerns and offered guidance on disease prevention, personal hygiene and maintaining overall well-being.
Residents of Jatinga expressed appreciation for the initiative, saying the camp provided much-needed healthcare services to people living in the remote hill district.
The Assam Rifles said such programmes reflect its commitment to improving the welfare of communities in remote and border areas by extending healthcare and other essential services alongside its security responsibilities.
