As per the Weather Channel bulletin, the inclement weather will prevail over central plains on Monday before moving eastward into East India and Northeast India from Tuesday to Friday.
Further, the India Meteorological Department adds that these moisture-laden winds are likely to bring scattered to widespread rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh from Tuesday to Thursday.
Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are in for scattered to fairly widespread rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday (January 12-13).

Total rainfall accumulation may reach 80-100 mm over these aforementioned places on Wednesday and Thursday, Weather Channel reported.
Along with rains, some places in the region are also likely to experience thunderstorms and lightning this week.
In Assam Dhubri, South Salmara, Baksa, Barpeta, Kamrup, West Karbi Anglong, Karbi Anglong, Golaghat, Jorhat, Tinsukia and Kohima, Wokha, Mon in Nagaland and Longleng in Mizoram are all likely to witness thunderstorms with lightning at isolated places over the coming days.
Moreover, shallow to moderate fog is set to blanket isolated pockets of northeast India during the night and morning hours for the next 24 hours.
Accordingly, Assam and Meghalaya have been placed under a yellow watch for today, which advises residents to ‘be updated’ on the local weather situation.
Come Wednesday, the same alert will cover Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
The major cities in the region, viz. Guwahati, Imphal and Shillong, will be in for generally cloudy skies with light rains for the next few days.
