Assam: Army’s 4 Corps sets up 45 oxygen beds, 5 ICUs at Tezpur Medical College Hospital in just 3 days

The 4 Corps of the Indian Army, which has its headquarters at Tezpur in Assam has yet again responded to the nation’s call. 

The 4 Corps, which is also known as the Gajraj Corp has set up as many as 45 oxygen beds and 5 ICUs at the Tezpur Medical College Hospital (TMCH).

The oxygen beds and the ICUs have been set up by the 4 Corps in a record time of just 3 days. 

The beds have been set up by the 4 Corps at the TMCH at the request of the Assam Government.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma heaped praises on the 4 Corps for the remarkable feat. 

“What a feat! Grateful to GOC & his team for such commendable work!” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said. 

“Oxygen beds are fast emerging as our biggest challenge. At our request, 4 Corps HQ at Tezpur has set up 5 ICU and 45 Oxygen beds in Tezpur Medical College in a record time of 3 days,” Assam CM Sarma said.

Notably, Assam’s COVID-19 situation has been grim since last month. 

On Wednesday, Assam logged 71 COVID-19 deaths and 5657 new cases.
