The troops of Indian Army recently nabbed a cadre of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) from a village in Tinsukia district.
Defence sources informed on Wednesday, the operation was carried out near Kachijan village in Tinsukia district of Upper Assam on February 17.

Sources said the Indian Army troops, based on specific inputs about the presence of a ULFA-I cadre in the Kachijan village, swiftly launched an operation in the village.
During the operation, the Army troops were able to apprehend a ULFA (I) cadre.
“The troops also recovered one .32 pistol, one country-made rifle and assorted ammunition,” said defence sources.

The apprehended individual has been handed over to the police for further investigation, defence sources added.
The Eastern Command of the Army while sharing an image of the apprehended ULFA(I) cadre, tweeted: “Troops of #IndianArmy in an #Operation apprehended a ULFA (I) cadre with arms & ammunition near Kachijan Village, Tinsukia, Assam on 17 Feb. On February 5, 2020, a cadre of the proscribed ULFA (I), identified as Raktim Gogoi alias Bakhar Gogoi, was nabbed from Penegre area of Tinsukia district.
Based on specific input about a ULFA (I) militant sneaking into Assam from Myanmar, a joint operation by the Assam Police and the Army was launched.
During the operation, the joint operating team was able to nab ULFA (I) rebel Raktim Gogoi.
Police said arrested ULFA (I) rebel hails from Mugongpathar village under Pengeri police station in Tinsukia district.
