It may be recalled that earlier in the month of September two persons were attacked by a leopard at Sassoni Meerbeel under Naharkatiya police station in Dibrugarh district.

They were identified as Jitu Lahon and Bhupen Bora of Sassoni village.

According to local people, the leopard has been wreaking havoc for the past few months and the forest department has failed to tranquilize it.
