Assam: Another coal miner found dead in Tinsukia

Guwahati: Yet again, a coal miner’s dead body was found in a coal mine at Ledo in eastern Assam’s Tinsukia district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Kancha.

The worker’s death occurred under mysterious circumstances while he was transporting coal at Lalmati in Ledo.

According to sources, the body was subsequently retrieved and is currently in the custody of the police.

This marks the second such incident in Ledo within the past five months, following a similar tragedy on September 4.

Sources said that the illegal coal mines in Ledo, Margherita have become a death trap for the coal miners.

The circumstances surrounding the labourer’s death remain unclear, and police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
