Guwahati: Ambuja Neotia Group will develop an integrated healthcare and hospitality project in Guwahati following approval of its investment proposal by the state government.
The project will include a 300-bed multi-speciality hospital and a premium 4+ star hotel, with a total investment expected to exceed Rs 700 crore.
The development will be constructed on a 2.88-acre mixed-use land parcel at Fancy Bazar, Old Jail Road. Of this, 1.46 acres will be allocated for the hospital, to be developed by Ambuja Neotia Healthcare Venture Limited with an estimated investment of Rs 360โ400 crore.
The hospital is planned to provide multi-speciality services in cardiology, neurology, orthopaedics, oncology, and critical care, aiming to improve tertiary healthcare access for Assam and the wider Northeast region.
The remaining 1.42 acres will accommodate a premium 4+ star hotel, developed by Ambuja Neotia Hotel Venture Limited at an estimated investment of around Rs 350 crore. The hotel will offer rooms, banqueting and meeting facilities, and multiple dining options.
The two developments are expected to create employment opportunities. The hospital alone is projected to generate 1,500โ2,000 direct jobs, in addition to indirect employment through allied services and local businesses.
This will be Ambuja Neotia Groupโs second healthcare initiative in Assam, following the launch of the Neotia Bhagirathi Woman and Childcare Centre in Guwahati in 2025.
Parthiv Neotia, Joint Managing Director of Ambuja Neotia Group, said, โWe are deeply grateful to the Government of Assam for their trust and encouragement. Guwahati holds immense strategic importance as the gateway to the Northeast, and we believe this integrated development can contribute meaningfully to the regionโs healthcare infrastructure and urban economy.โ
โAt Ambuja Neotia, we have always believed that meaningful development must serve both people and place. By bringing together advanced healthcare facilities with a thoughtfully designed hospitality component, the project aims to support medical access, create employment, and strengthen Guwahatiโs position as an important regional centre for healthcare, business and travel.โ
The project is expected to provide patients from Assam and neighbouring states with closer access to advanced medical treatment. It also aligns with the state governmentโs plans to position Guwahati as a key economic and service hub in the Northeast.
