AJP’s general secretary, Jagadish Bhuyan, presented the manifesto in Dibrugarh, outlining the party’s commitments for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

While focusing on addressing specific issues within the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency in Assam, the manifesto also pledges to advocate for broader state concerns in Parliament if AJP candidates are elected.

Key agenda points in the AJP manifesto include tackling flood and erosion problems of Assam, establishing the Namrup 4th plant, implementing clauses 5 and 6 of the Assam Accord, and repealing the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), along with seeking Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for six ethnic groups.

Bhuyan, speaking to the media, emphasized AJP’s alliance with opposition parties in contesting the Dibrugarh Lok Sabha seat in Assam, with party president Lurinjyoti Gogoi as their candidate.

He highlighted Gogoi’s leadership qualities and ability to represent the aspirations of Assam’s people in Parliament, expressing gratitude for the support received from the people of Assam.
