Guwahati: The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) led by former MP Badruddin Ajmal has appealed to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to provide security to the Muslims living in the state.
The appeal was made by the party following an alleged surge in threats from unknown organisations and fundamentalist groups.

The party petitioned Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya to take action against these groups, which have been issuing warnings to Muslims in Upper Assam, ordering them to leave the region or face severe consequences.

The AIUDF in a memorandum expressed concern over the alarming statements, which pose a significant threat to communal harmony and the safety of the Muslim community.
The party further sought prompt action to address these threats and ensure the well-being of the affected community.
