Two women were injured in an acid attack by a man in Assam‘s Lakhimpur district on Monday night.
The incident took place at Rangajan near North Lakhimpur town when one Rafiqual Islam threw acid on Rehena Begum and Nureja Begum while they were asleep.
The acid attack victims were rushed to the Lakhimpur Medical College Hospital.
The attacker, Rafiqual Isam, who hails from Karunabari under Laluk police station threw acid on his wife, Renena Begum and his sister-in-law at midnight by entering into his brother-in-law’s house.

Rehena has already left Rafiqual’s house because of domestic violence.
A case has been registered against Rafiqual by the victim’s brother in the North Lakhimpur police station.
CRPF conducts medical camp in Lakhimpur
A free medical camp under civic action programme was organized by the 30 Battalion of CRPF on December 12 in Santipur village under North Lakhimpur police station.
The medical camp was inaugurated by Rahul Kant Sahu, Second-in-Command of 30 Battalion of CRPF in presence of Uday Bag, Assistant Commandant, Rohtash Kumar, Assistant Commandant, Dr. Sunny Kumar, GDMO, 30 BNCF.
About 300 villagers were treated in the free medical camp and medicines were also distributed.

The medical camp was organized under ‘Utkrishta Hamara Sankalp’ drive of CRPF.
Lakhimpur deputy commissioner (DC) Summit Sattawan, superintendent of police (SP) BR Rajkhowa deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Runa Neog were also present on that occasion.
